Sponsoring a new member is a great thing. Go the extra mile and be a mentor to that new member in the 1st year. Make sure that they know what to expect through the year and they have the information they need. The BOG will also be considering having the sponsor speak to the GB on the applicants behalf.
If you are sponsoring a new member it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to inform them of the process and to insure they understand all their obligations as a member. You should not only be present at their interview, but also the General Body meeting they are sworn in. During their probationary period help them along with the slip process and getting familiar with the Club and its activities.
